The idea for the Cocoons was inspired one morning when I was cleaning up in the kitchen
and a dried out tea bag in a teacup caught my eye. So many interesting markings left behind.
The beauty in the marks really captivated me. I love rusty and weathered things.
I started drying out used teabags, opening them up, emptying the dried tea, and saving the "paper".
I started creating little works where I added a bit of cotton, a charm, collected shells, or another found object,
sometimes a fortune, sewed the contents in, and sealed it with beeswax and thread.
They became cocoons.
