New Work Oil Pastel

My current work in oil pastel is influenced by Abstract Expressionism. 

The women artists of that time and style are particularly influential, as well as contemporary abstract artists. 

This work is about transformation and grows out of my experience in this unprecedented time. 

To my surprise, the turmoil of the events of 2020 called out a vibrant, searching, colorful, ecstatic spirit in my work. 

To my great delight, it continues to to evolve and teach me about patience and resilience, possibility and joy.
